With the aim to plant 10,000 vanilla vines by 2025, Heilala is creating opportunity for the Tongan community as the need for vanilla farmers, dryers and packers grows. Along with employment we have also funded numerous scholarships.

Providing the people in particular women of Tonga with a feeling of purpose and pride. There are few jobs in Tonga suitable for women to undertake. Vanilla growing is delicate and detailed and ideal for the soft precise hands of a women.
Guiding, Teaching & Training
Heilala along with MORDI have developed a series of vanilla growing manuals to teach and guide vanilla growers in Tonga how to get the best possible results out of their crop. The outcome is win-win as growers gain the skills to be successful growers and Heilala can purchase top quality beans in return.
